Family Compassionate Conversations: Addressing School-related Trauma

Family Compassionate Conversations: Addressing School-related Trauma

About this event

Their next Family Compassionate Conversation will focus on addressing school-related trauma. They will focus on strategies for family members to recognize, discuss, and address traumatic experiences that their children have had in the school community. They will also present some tools for family members to reflect on their own experiences of trauma in school and how that affects their relationship with their child’s school.

They’ll provide some tips families can share with educators to support students experiencing trauma and to equip school staff with skills to foster safe and supportive learning environments. Participants will also experience a brief mindfulness practice that can be shared with others in their lives.

This is an opportunity for you to come with questions about discussing mental health and well-being with your family members, educators, administrators, and your children.

This session is part of a monthly series. Make plans to join them for upcoming Family Compassionate Conversations on other topics, including:

Please stay tuned to events on the New England MHTTC website to register for future sessions.
