Back by popular demand! Can what you eat heal you? The Capitol Hill Counseling and Resource Center is happy to continue the popular “Food as Medicine” series, an interactive virtual cooking class that connects health to food, led by acclaimed Nutritionist and Wholistic Health Coach, Anelise Antunes. The upcoming classes are below.
MONDAY, JULY 18: The Powerhouse of Dark Green Leaves Vegetables
Last month they had they Garden chat and planted this fantastic green called Swiss Chard. Now is time to eat them. While learning about basic cooking and knife skills, they will prepare Chiffonnade Swiss Chard, Caramelized Onions, and Matchstick Carrots. Let’s dive into the world of Swiss chard. This dark green, leafy vegetable is full of fighting-disease antioxidants. It is an excellent source of Vitamin K, calcium, and magnesium that may decrease insulin resistance and lower blood sugar. Swiss Chard to the plate!

Following the healthy chat “10 Superfoods You Need to eat”, Anelise will discuss the nutritional benefits of superfoods and how to include them in your diet, including dessert. This will be a showstopper, mouth watery “Food as Medicine” session. Register now and invite your friends and family.
