Central PA HCQU: Emergencies: Are You Ready?

Join the Health Care Quality Unit (HCQU) and Debra Erdman, RN MSN CCRN TCRN, Geisinger Outreach/Injury Prevention Coordinator, Trauma Education resource Nurse and Girard Jenkins, Geisinger Program Integration Specialist Trauma, Trauma Center for a virtual instructor lead training on Emergencies Are You Ready.

The targeted audience will be caregivers and support staff who support adult individuals with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism living in community settings. Anyone with an interest may join.

Registration is not required. Attend as a group or individually. Participants must complete the entire session for a certificate of attendance.

Training Objectives:

• Describe what is considered a medical emergency.
• Define stroke signs and symptoms.
• Explain 5 and 5 maneuvers for choking.
• Demonstrate compression of wound in bleeding emergency
• This information is not a substitute for first aid and CPR training.
