Join the Health Care Quality Unit (HCQU) for a FREE virtual instructor-led training on Remote Supports & Technology: Promoting Independence, Health, and Safety for Individuals with IDD/A by Stephanie McDonald – Senior Remote Supports Consultant and Jo Ellen Bloom – Remote Supports Consultant from SafeinHome.
This presentation provides an overview of Remote Supports and technology solutions and how they can be used to promote independence, health, safety, and quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and/or autism. Through real-life success stories, participants will explore how Remote Supports can address various support needs, such as reducing anxiety and/or frequent callers, improving medication adherence and management, enhancing safety at home and in the community, and supporting greater independence in daily life. The presentation will also explore collaborative approaches to integrating Remote Supports into an individual’s broader support system, emphasizing the importance of coordination among individuals, families, providers, support coordinators, and healthcare professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
