PEAL Center: For Professionals: Healthy Relationships and Sexuality for Young People with Disabilities

Hosted by the PEAL Center

Many professionals don’t feel confident or have the skills needed to address the topic of healthy relationships and sexuality for young people with disabilities.

By the end of this workshop, you will:

– Gain knowledge about sexuality and specific issues for people with developmental disabilities

– Explore your own values and attitudes regarding sexuality and people with developmental disabilities

– Explore ways to communicate one-on-one about sexuality with people with developmental disabilities and their parents/guardians

– Become better prepared to interact with youth and families regarding the topic of healthy relationships and sexuality

The PEAL Center is a one-stop-resource for disability information and referral in Pennsylvania for parents, self-advocates, and professionals. PEAL provides assistance to families of children with disabilities, educators, and others who work with them.
