Risk Management Forum: Managing the Fatal Five

Sessions by The Southeast Regional Risk Managers (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia) and Philadelphia Coordinated Health Care.

TARGET AUDIENCE: These sessions are for staff from provider agencies, SCOs, Vendor Fiscal, and Agencies with Choice, who are involved with quality, risk, and incident management.

SESSION DESCRIPTION: Aspiration, Constipation, Dehydration, Seizuresand Infection/Sepsisare five conditions if untreated can progress to serious illness or death. They are often preventable and these sessions will focus on helping staff to take notice of signs and symptoms of these five conditions as well as how to manage effectively the risk surrounding them and its importance in incident management. The goal will be to explore effective ways of corrective action as it relates to the “Fatal Five” and keeping people safe.
