Birth-Five Families Workshop: Normal is Overrated: How to Manage our Expectations as Caregivers While Adapting and Advocating

Hosted by Birth-Five Families

***This FREE workshop is for parents/caregivers in Philadelphia who care for a child five years old or younger with an intellectual/developmental disability or autism****

As caregivers, there is no such thing as “normal”. However, you are often pressured to conform to society’s expectations, which can create a lot of stress for yourself and your loved ones.

As caregivers of children with disabilities, you can change your perspectives and take an alternative and equally valid pathway. On this pathway, you can support your children to feel truly accepted, valued, and celebrated for who they are.

Join Birth-Five Families for this FREE 1h virtual workshop to discuss adjusting perspectives and redefining “normal” for yourself, your loved ones with disabilities, and your family.

You only have to register for one session. The recording will be sent to all those who register.

The Birth-Five project is a part of Vision for Equality’s Philadelphia Family Support Projects. The project provides one-to-one peer support to assist families in navigating supports and services for their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism.
