The start of a new school year can bring a mix of excitement, anxiety, and uncertainty, especially for families of students with disabilities.

Discuss what’s changed in the past 18 months, what parents should know and where to find information, how to communicate effectively with the school team, and what to do when things don’t go as planned. The goal is for families to leave feeling more prepared, organized, and confident heading into the new school year, especially as it feels like things are changing.

The PEAL Center is a one-stop-resource for disability information and referral in Pennsylvania for parents, self-advocates, and professionals. PEAL provides assistance to families of children with disabilities, educators, and others who work with them.
