Join the PEAL Youth Team for Recognize, Respond, Rephrase: Empowering Youths to Dismantle Ableism.

Throughout the webinar participants will: 
  • Learn to define ableism and the different ways it can occur
  • Explain whom ableism affects, what the effects can be, and learn strategies to cope with ableist comments they may receive or witness
  • Understand why ableist comments are problematic, learn alternative language and phrases, and be champions of educating others
  • Be able to implement shared resources for further learning and to begin building a network of allies to disrupt ableism

The PEAL Center is a one-stop-resource for disability information and referral in Pennsylvania for parents, self-advocates, and professionals. PEAL provides assistance to families of children with disabilities, educators, and others who work with them.
