Sibling Space (12-18 years old) - Part 1

A 2-part online workshop for young people 12-18 who have a sibling with additional needs (Autism, Learning Disability, Developmental Delay).
About this event
The “Sibling Space” workshop has been designed for young people with a sibling with additional needs (Autism, Learning Disability or Global Developmental Delay). You will get a chance to meet and to share with other young people with similar experiences.Part 1 of the workshop focuses on understanding your sibling’s needs and behaviour, possible reasons why they behave how they do, discussing how to explain to others about your sibling and sharing experiences and emotions associated with having a sibling with additional needs

Part 2 of the workshop focuses on what you can do to help your sibling or yourself when they are feeling overwhelmed or upset by using a traffic lights system. You will also hear about support options for you as a sibling of a young person with additional needs. Please note that you will also need to sign up to Part 2 via Eventbrite.

The online workshop will be led by friendly practitioners from Newham CAMHS and LCIS who look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have.
