A free playwriting workshop for kids and teens with autism spectrum disorder at Thomas Jefferson University. The workshop will be run by Michele DeMuth, a current 4th-year medical student and soon-to-be pediatrician at Thomas Jefferson University who has experience working with individuals with autism. In this workshop, participants will have the chance to write a short play about a superhero. Each participant will be paired up with a medical student. The purpose of the workshop is to not only provide the participants with a fun, creative outlet, but also to engage medical students (outside of the classroom) with individuals who at some point may require special medical services (and understanding) based on their diagnosis of ASD. The workshop is free! Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
