An Electrocardiogram (EKG) Test

I will check in at the desk when I arrive at the doctor’s office or lab.

A nurse will bring me to a new room.

I may need to take off my shirt or wear a gown. The nurse will leave the room.

They will place stickers on me. These feel sticky but do not hurt.

After they are connected, I will be asked to lie still and relax.

The machine will check my heart while I stay quiet and calm.

When the EKG is done, the nurse will gently take the stickers off. Then I can put my clothes back on.
