Justice scales and a gavel.Forensic Psychology is the intersection between psychology and the legal system. It requires knowledge of psychology and knowledge of legal principles. The Forensic Psychologist is designated an expert in a specific field by the court.

If you, a family member, or friend is involved in a legal situation and the services of a psychologist is needed, it is important to know if you should see a General Psychologist, or if you need a Forensic Psychologist. You should consult with your attorney, and if you are already seeing a psychologist, consult with your current psychologist about the need for a specialist.
