This manual, developed by the Rochester Institute of Technology, in conjunction with other up and coming higher learning institutes, and funded by the Autism Speaks Family Services Community Grant, is designed to help colleges and universities prepare to support individuals with autism attending college and help them succeed.

This manual was developed as a guide for higher education professionals to learn ways to support individuals with autism attending college. Some of the information that is covered in the pamphlet includes:

    • A definition of the autism spectrum disorder
    • Some of the unique strengths and challenges associated with college students with ASD
    • Unique challenges and opportunities in the college environment
    • Ways to mitigate student and environmental challenges
    • Ways to identify a campus resource to support students with ASD
