Public Comment: The Process

Through public comment periods, policymakers can learn about what individuals in the community think of proposed changes to policies and programs. It is a great way for community members to get involved and note how they feel about any new initiatives. Through community participation in public comment periods, policymakers can learn what changes are important to individuals and which ones are not needed or could be improved. This feedback is valuable as policymakers develop and implement programs to serve community needs.
