There are higher rates of autism among deaf or hard of hearing (D/HH) people than hearing people. In addition, about half of autistic people having hearing differences. However, it can be hard to diagnose autism in the D/HH population.

It can help you better understand how to actually use a sign by replicating the handshape, movement, location, pal orientation, and the non-manual markers (NMM).
