ACRES Project: Social Outreach Programs

Adults Creating Residential Employment Solutions (ACRES)

The ACRES Project does not force socialization, but provides opportunities for people to connect in safe spaces. ACRES hosts regular social opportunities for neurodiverse people to connect with each other and their community. Most of social activities are led by and for neurodivergent participants themselves.

****Check the ACRES website regularly, as groups change***

  • Video Game Club: Gather your gaming gear and get ready for some fun! They have a great variety of games, consoles, and most importantly, new friends! Video Game Club meets every Wednesday from 4-5:30 PM.
  • Sports Club: Join ACRES on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1-2:30 PM to get active with neighbors at the Nittany Valley Sports Centre!
  • Art Club: Art Club is led by two local artists and is a supportive space for those who love art and want to connect with others. All art and people are welcome! This club meets at ACRES every other Tuesday from 4-5:30 PM.
  • Finding Community at Penn-State: Neurodivergent Penn State students are invited to this casual on-campus social group presented by ACRES and Penn State’s Student Disability Resources! The group is run BY neurodiverse Penn Staters, FOR neurodiverse Penn Staters! Even if you don’t have a formal diagnosis, all who identify as Neurodivergent are invited to come and meet fellow students, learn about helpful campus resources, and hang out with others who “get it.” This group meets every other week from 6-8PM in Room 103 Boucke while PSU is in session. Meeting dates are listed on their Events Calendar.
  • Adult Social Group: Socialization can be difficult for those on the autism spectrum, so ACRES is proud to be a safe place where adults with autism can make friends, have a chat, and just have fun! A group of neurodivergent young adults meet at ACRES every other Monday from 6-8 PM for a casual social time. Contact them if you are interested!

The Adults Creating Residential Employment Solutions (ACRES) Project strives to build a safe, inclusive community that bridges gaps in services for neurodivergent people through social, educational, and vocational programs.
