Hosted by The Arc Susquehanna Valley
The Arc Susquehanna Valley offers many programs and services for self-advocates. They expand what they offer every year with feedback from you, self-advocates, and families.
SELF-ADVOCATES OF THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY
- DREAM – it’s important for each Self Advocate to discover what ignites their passion. The acronym D.R.E.A.M. stands for Discovering Resources to Explore and Achieve your Mission. The Arc currently offers a technology lab of 15 iPads and 10 laptops that allow self-advocates to explore resources to achieve their mission. D.R.E.A.M. classes take place every Monday from 10-11:30 AM.
- At Work – to accommodate a wide range of schedules and interact with the most self-advocates possible, Brian and Mark both go to individual day programs and have individual day programs come to them. This allows them to reach even more people with self-advocacy and augmentative and alternative communication resources.
- Community Learning Institute Nights – an expressed priority of the Self-Advocates of the Susquehanna Valley Program will always be to provide opportunities for participants to learn and excel. They have two programs monthly, offering such skills as:
- Cooking
- Art
- Music
- Community service
- And more!
- Learning Institute 1 on 1 – sometimes it’s best to have a 1-on-1 interaction to learn. They offer 1-on-1 appointments centered around an individual’s stated goals. Contact them to schedule an appointment!
A listing of activities is provided in each Arc Susquehanna Valley newsletter.
The Arc of Susquehanna Valley provides advocacy and resources for citizens of the Susquehanna Valley area. The Arc is a membership organization made up of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, friends, interested citizens, and professionals in the disability field.
