Autism Caring Center

Autism Caring Center

The area’s first autism resource center located in the south/southwest region of Pittsburgh. Their mission is to enhance the lives of the autism community by providing training, resources, advocacy, and support.

Autism Caring Center Mission:

  • To provide direct, helpful resource information for individuals and families.
  • To educate about autism – especially for schools, community groups, and other non-profit organizations.
  • To support the needs of the community in group formats, including discussion groups and social events.
  • To provide advocacy services, including court testimony.

The Center can provide the following:

  • Consultations by telephone or in-person to support individuals and families in their need for resources and information.
  • Advocacy services including IEP meeting support and court testimony.
  • Autism training for schools, community groups, and businesses. Recent trainings include; Washington Wild Things, Pittsburgh Botanical Garden, Western Allegheny County Community Library, Moon Township Parks and Recreation, Primrose Preschool, and more.
  • Monthly support groups for parents and individuals throughout Southwestern PA.
  • Social events for individuals with ASD, their families, and friends.
