Facing Forward

Facing Forward is a program for families of children with Autism and/or ID in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties. There are 2 groups: one for families of elementary-aged children and one for families of transition-aged children (14-21). They meet virtually each month, September through June, on the 3rd Tuesday (elementary) and Thursday (transition) of each month.  They use The LifeCourse Tools to help families develop a vision for their child and his/her future needs and what supports and services are necessary to achieve that.

They also hope to have two in-person get-togethers, one in December and one in May or June. The virtual platform has made it easier for them to serve families in both Lancaster and Lebanon counties without having anyone have to worry about transportation to join in. They miss having folks get together to meet/talk in person and in a less formal way and remain hopeful that COVID and other things do not impede their proposed in-person get-togethers.
