Families Creating Communities for Adults with Special Needs (CCAN)

Families Creating Communities for Adults with Special Needs is a nonprofit founded and led by parents and family members of adults with disabilities. Families CCAN assists families in developing innovative models of housing, employment and volunteer activities for their family members. Through education, access to expertise and resources, networking, advocacy, and partnerships with agencies and other organizations, they aim to create caring communities for adults with disabilities in the 5-county Philadelphia area.

• Designed to support families in developing housing, volunteer, and community-based opportunities for their loved ones with disabilities.
• They bring together knowledge, resources, tools, and networks to organize, train, and inspire you to think about “independence” with a fresh perspective.
• This work supports families in developing housing, employment, and volunteer opportunities for their loved ones with disabilities.

Programs/Services include: Monthly Resource Meetings, Lean to Cook, Peer-to-Peer Workshops, Empowering Independence, Personal Support Network Workshop, Housing Readiness Workshop, Creating Family Networks, and Family Navigation Services.
