Family Service Association of Bucks County: Parent Support Group

Hosted by Family Service Association of Bucks County

The Parent Support Group meets weekly to help caregivers make positive changes in their parenting. The support group is a place to come together with other parents to share feelings about and get advice on being a good parent. You’ll exchange creative parenting practices based on your own personal experiences and develop a lasting network of friends who can serve as an ongoing resource.

Each meeting provides a combination of support and education for parents. You can expect structured workshops led by a professional facilitator paired with open, informal conversations between parents.

Topics of Discussion

Topics vary based on the parents in attendance and any challenges or successes they may be having at that time. All parents are encouraged to talk about any issues that affect their relationships with their children. Some examples of topics that have been discussed in the past include:

  • Discipline of children
  • Child development
  • Stress reduction
  • Child welfare system
  • Self-care-as parents

Meeting Location and Time

Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Bucks County Family Center in Bristol, PA.

Family Service Association of Bucks County is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, founded in 1953, serving Bucks County and the surrounding communities. They are a member of United Way of Bucks County and Social Current and are fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation. They agency is licensed by the State of Pennsylvania to provide mental health assessment and treatment services as well as drug and alcohol assessment and treatment services. Offices are located throughout Bucks County in Langhorne, Quakertown, and Bristol, PA. They also operate out of twenty-two school-based sites and the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter.
